The Rieder Group specializes in the production of solution-oriented, environmentally friendly, and economical concrete products. Inspired by the needs of their customers, Rieder extends the limits of the concrete material beyond its protective function; most notably, with glass fiber cement.
Glass fiber cement is non-flammable and consists of mineral raw materials that create a distinctive material character. The authentic appearance creates a natural liveliness on the facade. Their glass fiber products, ‘Oko Skin’ and ‘Concrete Skin’, provide unprecedented freedom for the design of individual facades.
FACADE SLATS MADE OF GLASS FIBRE CONCRETE
With öko skin, Rieder offers concrete facades in a slatted design. The various surfaces create a lively interplay of color. The slats can be mounted with little effort and, unlike wood, never need to be painted or sanded.
FACADE PANELS MADE OF GLASS FIBRE CONCRETE.
Like a ‘skin’ of concrete, these 13mm thin panels wrap smoothly over buildings, corners, and edges to create a unique material flow—evident in a continuous and monolithic aesthetic.
Concrete is alive
Glass fibre concrete is a natural material. Its natural raw materials create a special, concrete-like surface.
öko skin can be used both as a cladding for large-scale facades of buildings as well as for small projects, such as vestibules, winter gardens, terraces, garden sheds, garages, fences...
öko skin allows for facades with minimum maintenance requirements. In contrast to wooden panels, glass fibre concrete does not need to be sanded or painted.
Thanks to the manageable format, the slats can be mounted and processed further directly on the construction site - by the specialist processor, carpenter, or a skilled "do it yourself" handyman.
Fire resistance with fire protection class A1 "non-flammable" according to DIN 4102 – a safe alternative to classic wooden board formwork.
With its ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, Rieder sets itself high standards for environmental protection. The environmental product declaration, EPD, gives precise indicators for the life cycle assessment.
